i am not a robot

Title: Marina & the Diamonds

San Francisco has been awkwardly hot the passed two days. People are in a panic. It is almost the next War of the Worlds as people try to go outside in sweaters and realize it is too hot. Pale skin is exposed rawly to the beams of the cloudless sun rays. There is no fog in sight. It has gone missing. I wore a strapless dress and nothing else today. I read my text books in the sunshine on Union Square Plaza. I am in a wonderful mood today and I thank helio-therapy.

October has begun, just incase you did not know. Fall is here, the leaves should be changing, and the orange yellows and browns should be making their seasonal appearances on the wardrobes that walk to the streets to and from the coffee shops and work.

To get into the holiday spirit, my family treated me (literally) to some fun packages. Yesterday I got a can in the mail. A soup sized can. As i opened it I was shocked to find there was no chicken noodle broth mixture, but a cute little note, candies, vampire fangs, black sparkle metallic nail polish, and boo mallow marshmallows. This was all from my sister. She even made me wait to open it until she could watch me do it on skype. Two and a half hours later I had finished all the candies and was almost in tears as I bid my sister (dressed in surgeon gear may I add) goodbye. She made my day.

Now I was coming home from class, I approached the doors, and the security guard couldn't wait to get out "Audrey, you have another package!" She was excited as she pulled out an orange box with pumpkin stickers and my Mother's handwriting. The minute I saw it, I knew my school teaching perfect handwriting too cute for words Mama had sent me something that no other college student would ever recieve. I rushed to my room, tore open the tape (which took longer than it should of. note to you: i had tape and envelopes) and almost died as i held halloween decorations in my hand. Mama sent me bats to put on the wall! With help from Emme and Phoebe, we now have bats flying from the mirror, to the door, and over to my neighbors door. We are the envy of the dorm. People have visited from other floors just to see the magic. People have offered me money to send to my mom so she can buy them some. I can confidently say that I have the best Mom in the world. No joke.

I love Tuesdays because I have my favorite class, with my favorite teacher. I started my day getting a latte from Sugar Cafe, sipping it while I critiqued/analyzed/observed/argued about photographs as the sun rose through the windows for participation points. My class loved my final prints of different perspectives of Emme. I will give you the link once I post them, but I am incredibly proud of my work. Our next assignment is to shoot form and narrative. I love pieces that scream stories, provoke questions, make you want to know more. I have the perfect idea in my mind right now, it is hard to explain, so just cross your fingers and I will show you the final piece.

I printed out my resume today and I am ready to turn it in to a coffee shop five blocks from my house. Cross your fingers.

I am going to end this post with a product review. Now, before coming here my Mother and I were shopping at good ol' Costco. It was here that we stumbled upon some new razors for my shaver. They didn't need shower cream, it was like built onto it. You know what I mean? Well they work great, but they get sticky, they never dry, and they melt every time you get it wet. They only lasted a few shower uses and the little plastic piece that surrounds the blade actually fell off when i picked it up this morning. Although they are cute. Do not buy them.

Ciao Bellas. xoxo

chilled and heart ached

Tonight San Fran is chilly and windy. Outside I can hear the chanting of what sounds like entire football team. I guess I should not call it chanting, for the sounds they are making are not words but fall more along the lines of animal noises. It is the weekend for me and my roommates now, so the room has a studious feel as we all work on the homework we let stack up over the passed week.

I met my film teacher today. For those of you who do not remember, he was missing in action last week because he was being a critic for the Toronto Film Festival. I absolutely love him. Jesse is his name and he is incredibly passionate about all films and what they have to give. You can see it in the way that he talks. He knows what he is saying. He is engaging as he walks through the large auditorium, attempting to make eye contact with each student. His presence makes you feel immediately involved and interested.  I think this class is going to be a lot of work, but I am really going to enjoy it. Really really enjoy it. Kayleigh (my roommate) just transferred into the class, so it was fun to have her with me. I made a new friend also. His name is Ed and he drives a motorcycle. He seems nice.

Dinner tonight was yummy, but also a little upsetting. It was crowded in the little cafĂ©; most of the larger tables were taken. We (my roommates and I) sat in the back. The table next behind us was a four top. A lone boy sat there eating his dinner. He arrived about ten minutes after we got there. He was in the middle of eating a not even half empty plate of food when these two girls and their boyfriends approached the table. The one girl asked him to move so that her and her friends could all sit together. He collected his stuff and just left, throwing away all the food on his plate. I may be being overdramatic, but it kind of upset me that these people thought they had the right to make someone move just so they could all sit together. It upset me that he just walked out. How was he feeling or thinking about? I feel bad that I didn’t say something, invite him to our table, pull a chair over, but part of me was in astonishment and didn’t want to make a big deal and embarrass him even more. I had to tell that to you. It bothered me. I don’t know.

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday night. Happy Birthday to my dancing twin Audrey! xoxo

meal plan.

Oops. I forgot to add this detail.

A lot of people (okay, just my Dad) have asked me how the food is at the Cafes and Restaurants here.

I call them fancy names because they are not like your usual school cafeterias. There are five or six different locations that you can go to, any meal plan works in all of them.

mac and cheese, green beans,
and a mixed green salad
with light caesar dressing.
You walk in, and the "hostess" scans your i.d. card which allows you into food land. Each night (in the smaller ones, not the main) there is a specialty meal - usually with a theme. For example, tonight at the Pine Cafe, it was italian with different pastas and paninis. If you don't want this, or you want more than just this, you can order off the "grill menu" which is your typical burgers, chicken fingers, quesadillas, french fries, or club type sandwiches - the generics. There is always a large salad bar, fruit or some sort, pizza, toast, cereal, and a dessert that changes each night. Full line of sodas, juices, and water that has floating citrus in it. You are allowed to eat as much and whatever you want.

The catch is that you cannot take any of it home, which is okay. My roommates have found away to sneak desserts (Phoebe always takes a cookie or brownie for the road,) strawberry cream cheese (Emme loves this. They do not have it in New Zealand and she thinks it's the best thing ever) and even a burger (Kayleigh stuffed it into a hand bag.) You do not really need to take anything home, it's just more of a challenge if you can. Ha.

One thing that can be taken out is a box lunch. You can go online the night before and ordered a lunch that includes a sandwich, chips, fruit, and dessert. It is like a sac lunch for home for those busy days when you do not know when you will find time between classes for a meal. I love this idea. Such a classy school, let me tell you.

The food itself is absolutely delicious and fresh. I have eaten incredibly healthy and felt satisfied after every meal. I have not had anything I did not like (except for this weird lettuce that was in my mixed greens salad... it had a sharp flavor - but i ate it anyway!)

It is not nearly as good as your cooking Mother, Father, and Sister - but it is keeping me energized until I get to eat your wonderful home cooked meals when I get home.

I also have this thing that comes with the meal plan called Knight Cash. This is like a credit card that works at the vending machines around campus, Arts Cafe (hosted by my school) which is like a coffee shop, but also many restaurants and cafes around the city accept it. I love this idea, because it gets you out in the city and you can go out and eat local.

Now that I have made you hungry at midnight, I hope you sleep well and dream of tasty treats.

I came here to do art, not make friends.. right?

I feel like a little kid on the eve of her first day of real big kid school. My mind is racing in thousand directions. I have read the first line Lolita twenty eight times, and have not made it to the second because my brain will not focus. I have the same song repeating in my ear phones and I don't know the name or artist or where I even got it from. My face is heated, but the air in my room is stuffy and cold.

Tonight I went to the soccer game with three girls from New Zealand: Phoebe (my roommate,) Emme (the girl across the hall) and Kristy (friends of the two listed above.) After riding a large, spacious, AAU bus for twenty or so minutes we arrived at a foggy little field. Only one side of the stadium was crowed - that was our side. We set ourselves in the masses after receiving a free AAU Urban Knights tee shirt. The student body is interesting, or as my grandmother would say "different." So many odd looks, so many unusual beauties, so many languages. There is no one here that I look like I should connect with. You know what I mean? You have a look and others look kind of just like you, someone who looks like your friends at home. No one looks like that here to me. This is both scary and refreshing. The feeling crosses over me as I sit quietly, ease dropping of my "eh" sayers, that I will not find friends, that I will be a loner, that I will graduate as a non popular human being. Then I figuratively slapped my self in the face and gave myself a pep talk about getting out there and making friends with the most odd balls in this school and who cares is I am a loner. I came here to do art, not make friends. This is not a girl scout camp. And all of this is crossing my mind as I see our cute soccer team remove their layers and prepare of the game. We (me and the Kiwi's) only stayed for twenty minutes because they got cold. But in those twenty minutes our team was ahead. By one point. But it was a glorious one point.

We took the bus ride home, which seemed much longer due to my growling stomach who needed to be fed.  After checking at one cafe, which was closed, we decided to trek up to another about two hills up from the current location. We arrived twenty minutes before closing, just in time for a delicious dinner. Mom, you would be proud I ate all my broccoli and salad. I didn't even spill on myself!

Now I am home, winding down (haha.. read the first paragraph to know how big of a lie that is.)

That is all I really have to say. I know it was not really an exciting post, but I just needed to talk to someone. Have a goodnight. xo

Ladies, meet the Australian water polo goalkeeper.

I am in a food coma. After a delicious dinner with chocolate dessert, it took all I could to do more tonight than lie in bed and sleep off the pounds I just tasted. I was about to say, “Hey, one night without wont be to bad” until I cam across James Clark’s photo.

Ladies, meet the Australian water polo goalkeeper!

I have searched for information, but it turns out that James is a bit mysterious. (Could we ask for a hotter characteristic?)

I did find out three things: he was born March 22, 1991, he is six foot five, and most importantly – this Aussi babe is single!
Another thing I found while researching the heart throbbing beautiful sport of water polo was a picture of the entire Australian men’s team:

Just think, if you date one - you have to go to ALL of those games and look at ALL of them. Maybe you can even host EVERY team dinner at your house. Your treat. ;)

I have kind of neglected my male readers, so respectfully I pulled up these two cute, nude, photographs of the U.S. women’s water polo team just for you guys! (I know, I am so thoughtful.)

Aren't they cute!?

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and sweet dreams!

favorite postion is:

After a deep, almost comatose, power nap, my Mother surprised me with a beautiful meal of pasties (like gourmet hot pockets) and rocket salad. The meal was inspired by the U.K. See, in my family, we have been having a meal from a different country participating in the Olympics every night for dinner. Last night I made Middle Eastern food, Gabrielle made French previous, and so on. Aren’t we cute? But really, it has been a lot of fun to learn about the different cultures through food. But it also has been really fun to learn about the different countries through men.
With that said, let me introduce you to Jack Green.

This twenty one year old was born October sixth in Maidstone, Great Britain. He is a tall cutie, standing at six feet four inches.
Jack is apart of the Great Britain track team. When looking up his biography on Google, one of the stats about him was titled “Favorite Position” and instantly my mind went to the gutter. After I read below this forward sub heading I soon realized that the British author who wrote the bio was not giving me Mr. Green’s favorite positions... in bed... but rather his position on the team. His favorite position is hurdles. (“Oh, I have never heard of that one before!” – said me secretly.)
In the semi finals of his event this year, he fell. Rather, he tripped hard core over the hurdle. This was disappointing that I chose a loser for this post, but upon Googling (is it grammatically correct to remove the “e” with adding “ing” when referring to Google) images of him I realized that although he did not succeed in his Olympic sport, he is a BIG WINNER in hotness.

This is a photo of Jack picking up his stumbled over hurdle. Look at that man butt. Mmhmm. If we got to look at this shot every time he fell, I would never want him to do well.

Now Verbaledudette tries to stay at a PG-13 appropriate level when dealing with language, subject matter, and of course photographs.

BUT i found something I just had to share.

A photographer for GQ Magazine photographed five British Olympic Athletes naked. Lucky for us, Jack Green was one of them.

You are so more than welcome.

 Cheers!

19.

Thursday, March 1st was Justin Beiber's 18th Birthday.
Thursday, March 1st was also Kesha's Birthday.
Friday, March 2nd was Dr. Suess's Birthday.
But most importantly.

Thursday, March 1st was my 19th birthday, and I have been celebrating ever since. I warn you, what you are about to read will make you incredibly jealous because my birthday weekend was amazing. Let's start with Thursday. I was awoken to fire, filling up my room. The heat was pounding against my drool stained face and the echoing sounds of my Mother and Sister singing Happy Birthday out of tune hummed the room. It was such a sweet surprise, literally. My family brought me a donut in bed, not just any donut, a donut with glazed and then chocolate and then sprinkles and the a candle. We are talking, the king of all donuts. I looked like this kid:

(Please note that this photograph was borrowed from burlingamebarley's photostream and I will return it when I am done. Don't call the occupy website clan or whatever they are called that will get me in trouble.) I received a glitter eye liner from my sister and new outfits from my parents. They are so thoughtful. The rest of the day I went to class, did things that normal people do, and then I was taken out to dinner at Vintos, one of my favorite restaurants, before class.

In film class I watched Moulin Rouge, it could not get any better. And well, it really didn't. See, when I was in class, Utah experienced the wettest snow storm they have had all year (do not quote me on that, I am not a weather professional and I do not have a white blazer to wear when it is snowing.) I came out to find my car looking like this:

Except there was no smiley face and the car was black, not green. Anyways, driving home was scary. My little buggy boop boop is not made for the slopes. Driving down an averagely steep hill, my car lost control. Slowly. But. Surely. I glided down the hill, my foot slamming on the breaks, my heart racing, and my mouth gaping with no sound. The emergency break was pulled, but nothing was stopping. I felt like I was going a hundred mile per hour, roller coaster speed (but in all actuality the boats in Its a Small World in Disneyland move faster then how I was.) I turned horizontal in the lane and stopped barley before bumping the silver four wheeled drive car in front of me. My head instantly hurt and I was shaking. The rest of the ride home was alright, but with a constant fear of loosing control again.

On Friday I had my friend's birthday party thing. It was Tangled theme, because I simply love that movie and like to pretend that I look like Repunzel. We ate, partied, danced, partied, and laughed incredibly hard. I had an amazing night.

Chatting with Saia and Bella. It was such a sweet surprise to see them:)

A few of the party gang.

Just Dance and sisterly love

The Party Crashers who were such a joy to have around:)

On Saturday, I had my family party, which was equally as enjoyable. On Sunday, my Father came home for ten hours, which was a nice treat. I really had a great weekend and am thankful for my wonderful family and friends.

Monday was my Father's birthday, Friday the 9th is my Mothers, and the 20th is Gabrielle's! Let the march madness begin!

the first impression rose

Happy Friday the thirteenth and here is a toast to the weekend that is about to come. Also, let’s open that figurative keg and poor me a figurative glass of beer in celebration to the finishing of my first week at a real university. Yahoo, I cannot believe I made it. I met a lot of new people, no that is a lie, I SAW a lot of new people this week, got lost more than once and did not ask for directions or look at a map (which would advertise my newbie status if I did,) and I parked in the student zone with my new permit in a lot that is more than freezing away from my destination. Ah, isn’t college grand? No, really, it was a very good week, and I am going to tell you all about it.

In order for me to give you a glimpse at my first week, we are going to play a little game of The Bachelor: Back to School Edition.

Now for those of you who do not watch that dreadfully addicting sort of television, let me give you a little background on what happens in the first episode.   The show begins with me:

The eligible, sweet, hopeless leaner, who is just looking for someone to spend the rest of my educational semester with. I am dying to be happy and find that perfect professor. I wait, in the student union, to meet the lovely educators who want to be mine and teach me everything their little minds have to offer through compassion and textbook readings.

In each class I meet a contestant and they try to make a first impression on me. See, at the end of the week (today) I give out the “first impression rose” to the professor I want to really learn more in their class with. It is critical to get a rose on the first night, or else I will drop the class and that professor has to make the walk of shame and cry in front of a camera. It is a dramatic experience and I have to make a very difficult decision. But before that happens, let’s meet the educators:

First is Norman Elliot from Intro to Interpersonal Communication.

This may not be an actual picture of Norm, but he sure does look like him (with a little extra pounds. making his sweater stretch and his buttons weaken) Norm is a funny, video clip, open guy who is always willing to communicate his emotions and tell you what they mean.

Next to walk in the union is Mister Foundations of Business, Richard Dunie.

Richard likes to teach classes that have an eighty boy to ten girl ratio. He also likes pointing out that old Dickenson does not think that Harry Potter is educational reading. His downfall is his lack of knowledge of how to set up a computer to the projector.

Coming from the building of BEH is the discussion leader for Analysis of Argument, Maurianna Shelbourn.

Mauri may just be an aid, but with her wild red locks (not demonstrated in the photograph because that is really not her) and the piercing that looks out of place on her left eye brow, we know that she will keep it awkward and go “beyond the textbook.”

Stopping by during my lunchtime is Argument Analyzer, Michael Middleton.

This guy is younger than the picture shows because the picture is actually a visual representation of his non-related name twin, the father of the new young bride of England. He is excited about his job and likes to roam around the auditorium while teaching.

Late night movie geek, Chris Lippard with Intro to Film comes with not only a scarf but also an English accent:

He may teach a four hour class that ends at ten, but his movie choice is wide and entertaining. It includes everything from Citizen Kane to The Big Lebowski. He does not like to sit on tables because they are not chairs.

And last, but not least is Natalie Nyman, the discussion cow girl of Intro to Interpersonal:

She may look like Dj Tanner from full house, but this girl has a ring on her left finger and love for asking what your favorite food is. She also is an early riser and when she has nothing to say, she lets you go early. What a gal! (Please note the picture is really Dj Tanner and not Natalie.)

Now that we have met our educators, it is time for me to get to know them through their classes. And YOU, as a reading audience, get to read the inside scoops. We begin on a Monday. . .

My first class of the college experience was Intro to Interpersonal. This class is all about the communication between people and what it all means. I walked out realizing that every person we meet we form a relationship with, weather it be long lasting or short lived.

That evening I went to Business Foundations. It was here that Channing Tatum’s look a like sat three chairs away from me (that is why is picture is included in the cast shot shown earlier.) I even made a friend in this class, her name is Crystal (I think) and she wants me to take photographs of her babies at a cheap price. Oh, the class is about the foundations of business and we learned about Christopher Columbus and his “native employees.”

Tuesday, the only class I got to spend time in was with Suzy Q (aka Maurianna.) This class was kind of pointless because it was the discussion class to a class that I had yet to attend. The people with me included professional glass blowers and a girl who looked sweet but actually likes to hunt and kill deer.

Wednesday I had a second chance to get to know the Interpersonal educator. It was nice to get some more time before this final decision.

On Thursday, I was taught about arguments and how to analyze them. The most surprising thing about this class so far is that I actually know someone in it! Madi answered a question and all though she was sitting behind me, I knew it was her voice.

That night, I watched Citizen Kane in my Intro to Film class where I was encouraged not to take any notes because he will give us the notes already typed up.

And today, my final class of the week was getting to know Natalie for Intro to Interpersonal.  All we did was some slight awkward introductions and were released thirty minutes early. I could not believe that I woke up early, took a shower, and got presentable, ran to class in the cold, and then sat there for twenty minutes only to be told we could leave cause there was nothing else to say.

After meeting each professor, I sat down in my kitchen, all alone, eating wheat thins, and made a critical decision.

Tonight, I give the first impression rose to Chris Lippard with Intro to Film. He was enthusiastic and funny and I cannot wait to spend the rest of the semester with him.

Chris, will you accept this rose?

bless this mess, we tried our best

I have never rung in the new year with so much laughter, dancing, and confetti. Last night and all of today was a perfect forshadowment (new word for 2012) to the year to come. I hope you had a wonderful day. Let's fill this year with no regrets and many memories. Here are a few snapshots!

Above: Gabrielle's (my sister) homemade cake pops. Very yummy.
Below: Asparagus wrapped in goat cheese and prosciutto followed by a homemade margarita pizza (fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil.)

And while we are on the topic of mustaches…

Oh what Tuesday this one has turned out to be. First of let me tell you that my hair looked fabulous today. At least I thought so. Last night, I slept with my hair in a fishbone braid. When I took it out twelve hours later I had the sexy beach hair every ocean lover wants. What a great day to start my morning. The second eventful thing, after eating my yogurt, was taking my Italian Art History Final. Five different print outs of pieces of art were placed before me. For each one I had to identify and explain the piece, and then there was a second question that had to do with the detail of either the artist or the style of the piece.  I feel like I did all right, but it was the best I could do, so I am satisfied. (I also had my Photography Final Critique.. but that was a joke. Everyone loved my work. Actually everyone loved everyone's work. Charles just talked mostly. He does that often.)

Today in the streets of Firenze there were wild protests. I do not know what these men were fighting about, but the city is on edge. There were helicopters flying around (this is really rare) and I was surrounded by men in uniform with bats, and helmets with face masks running to “designated protest areas.” It was exciting. If I get any news on what exactly was going down, I will inform you. Currently the rumor is something with a neighboring African country…. But that has not be confirmed. Don’t worry mom, I am safe and sound.

Isabella and Felix came over for dinner tonight. For those of you who do not remember, they are my two friends from the break dancing group. We had a delicious pasta dinner (surprised?) and then played a few rounds of the card game Spoons and finished with a great game of Bullshit. There were lots of laughs. I am going to miss those two.

We finished the night (when I say we, I mean Joanna and Rachel and I) by watching the film The Truman Show. It is hard to explain. I suggest you look it up. Watch it. Then watch it again. It was a mind blower.

Verbaledudette’s Gift Guide Item Number thirteen is: Something that is off the market: The Parmesan Cheese Pencil Sharpener.

(Just so you know, before this I wanted to put a copy of FUKT magazine on, but I could not find if you could purchase it! Is it an online only thing? This gift thing is a disappointment. Look at this link http://www.fukt.de/ and tell me if you can find a price. Who knew trying to play Santa’s helper could be so darn frustrating.) I give up. Listen folks, I have been collecting cool things for the passed two months and the last few nights I have become heart broken when the truth about these objects come out. I was thrilled to find this product. A pencil that shaves off cheese is genius! I was excited to show you this wonderful device. It’s unique, it’s classy, it’s fun, it’s artsy, it sold out completely after the first two weeks of sale time and the Germans are not making any more. What kind of world do we live in!?

Where to find it online so you can at least look at it: http://jazarah.net/meet-the-parmesan-cheese-pencils/
Price: Haha. Funny.

Let’s try this again. Today’s gift item from your favorite blogger is: TOO EXPENSIVE FOR YOU but I have to show it to you anyway. It is the Rocking Italian Scooter Deluxe.

I stumbled on this beauty a month ago and it was not until tonight that I noticed, not only that it was a lot of moolah, but also it is hand made from a guy that lives in Turin, Italia. How perfect is that? In his little “about this” section, he claims that the one you receive may be a little different because he makes the special for order. He may charge the big bucks, but considering what the process must be, I would buy this. I would buy this, but then not let my children get near it.

Where to find it: http://www.etsy.com/listing/41381029/rocking-italian-scooter-deluxe
Price: $2,300.00

Okay, here is a gift closer to your price range. (I am guessing Bill Gates and other million dollar owners are not interested in my ramble. I am guessing my audience is more normal.) Introducing the: ‘Stache Labbit Plush

Do not ask me what  a labbit is, but isn’t this the cutest hipster stuffed animal you have ever laid eyes on? Your kids would love to find this in their stockings! Even your boyfriend/girlfiend would love to get this while out on a romantic date that you will do before anyone else cause your cool and that is the hipster way to do things. Embrace the ‘stache my ‘sters.

Where to find this: http://www.kidrobot.com/Toys/PlushToys/stacheLabbitPlush7Inch.html
Price: $15.95

And while we are on the topic of mustaches… you might as well consider getting these bad boys too. Perfect for those men, and women, in your life who can’t grow fuzz beneath their nostrils. TA DA:  The Sunstache

Again, I do not know why they call it that. But you cannot resist these fabulous pair of shades. Get one for the whole family! Hey, even old Grandpa Joe would like to grow a bushy mustache once again! It’s a hell of a lot better than those ones with the fake nose because you do not have to breathe in plastic and you look natural. . . ish.

Where to find: http://us.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?itemdescription=true&itemCount=80&startValue=1&selectedProductColor=&sortby=&id=23510506&parentid=SHOP_STOCKINGSTUFFERS&sortProperties=+subCategoryPosition,&navCount=0&navAction=jump&color=&pushId=SHOP_STOCKINGSTUFFERS&popId=GENERAL_CATEGORY&prepushId=&selectedProductSize=&cm_mmc=Social-_-FB-_-20111202-_-sunstache
Price: $8.00

And here is a crazy picture of me because I felt like there wasn't enough random on this post.

Tomorrow I have my Italian final. Wish me luck! Have a good night my friends. Stay classy.

P.S. Did you noticed I did not talk about the weather? You should be proud.

P.P.S. The weather was bright and sunny all day.

P.P.S.S. I just could not help it.

9 days left and christmas cheer

This post had the potential to be a good post, but then Word decided to take extra long on loading, a minute to be precise, so now I cannot say that I started writing at exactly 11:11. Even though I am not starting at 11:13, I will try and redeem some points with what I am about to show and tell.

As you may, or may not, know, this is my final full week in Firenze, Italia. Bittersweet feelings have begun to wound up inside me. I am desperately excited to be home with my ever so sweet family, but I do not want to leave all this magic behind. The rest of my stay is pretty much already planned out. Here is my schedule:

Monday (tomorrow): In the morning, I need to skip my little buns over to the photograph printing palace to get my final prints printed. (I dare you to say that ten times fast.) I went on Friday, but for some reason my thumb drive would not work in their system, so I am going back for round two. After that, I have Italian Language class.

Tuesday: Bright and early at ten o clock I have my final Italian Art History class. This is where I will take the final exam (wish me luck) and say goodbye to the sweetest little teacher ever: Linda. I will miss her dearly. Then, I have my photography final critique, which is a piece of cake. Later that night, Felix and Isabella are coming over for dinner. It is so hard to say goodbye!

Wednesday: I will take my final for Italian Language. I am pretty sure it is going to be a hard one, but I will go in there and do my best. One thing I am positive about is that I will NOT miss Nicola’s teaching, but I will miss his character. What a funny man.

Thursday: If all goes to plan, I will not have a photography class today. It is the pack and clean the apartment day! Woot! I feel like it is going to be emotional. The three of us (Joanna, Rachel, and I) are going to go out to dinner for a little “last supper” kind of thing. It is weird to think I will never see these girls again.

Friday: I have my Cinema final, which should be easy peasy lemon squeezey. (KNOCK ON WOOD.) And then it’s the finishing touches before departure.

Saturday: Everyone leaves. I have to leave the apartment before 12:00 where I will then proceed slowly to my hotel across the river. Becca flies in later that night!!

Sunday: Show Becca my city.

Monday: Show Becca my city and get to bed early.

Tuesday: COME HOME!

What a week to come! Strap on your seatbelts folks. It is going to be a rollercoaster!
