a blog once bookmarked by jesus.

Once this week ends it will be winter break. (its about time) This week feels like it will never end, even though we only have one day left, it feels like it will never end. Its quite pathetic how much I am loathing school right now. I sit there in my classes, feeling a sense of annoyance and boredom, because one: the teachers don't want to teach (and when they do- they fail at it miserably)  and two: the students don't want to learn (not that most of us ever do- but its gotten worse.) We all stare out the windows watching the sun rise, lighting up the snow covered mountain tops or the small black birds fly around the school, almost like they are giving a omen outside our window. People seem to be bugging me lately too. I feel like I want to be anti social and just go crawl in a hole by myself for a bit. Every one seems to want to tell me something or talk to me or hug me or something! (Just leave me alone. Im grumpy.)  I have no desire to do homework- or try really hard and the hallways smell of orange and mint.

In other words - its times for a break.

So over the break I get the chance to jump in a van with my sister and father and travel to Steamboat Colorado to help with the Olympic Trials. (Yes, the Olympics are in February. No they are not in China... again... they are in Canada. No you are not the only one NOT to know. There is indeed a lot of you out there.) I am pretty excited.
Reasons why i am excited:

  1. i love skiing
  2. i love events
  3. i love ski events
  4. i get a special pass
  5. its a vacation away from all this crap
  6. hard work
  7. yeah.. its cool?
Reasons why I am not excited:
  1. _______
  2. _______
  3. _______
  4. _______
  5. _______
  6. _______
  7. yeah.. cause its cool?
CHANGE OF SUBJECT:

Glee. What an amazingly amazing show. Good gracious. I am so sad the finally is over.

I hate being ignored. Just saying.

I should be doing my physics. Chat it up later with y'all.

Cheerios.

"Hey Soul Sister" - Train

Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brain
I knew I wouldn't forget you
And so I went and let you blow my mind
Your sweet moonbeam
The smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided you're the one I have decided
Who's one of my kind

Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

Just in time, I'm so glad you have a one track mind
You gave my life direction
A game show love connection, we can't deny
I'm so obsessed
My heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest
I believe in you, like a virgin, you're Madonna
And I'm always gonna wanna blow your mind

Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

Well you can cut a rug
Watching you is the only drug I need
So gangster, I'm so thug
You're the only one I'm dreaming of
You see I can be myself now finally
In fact there's nothing I cant be
I want the world to see you'll be with me

Hey soul sister, ain't that mister mister on the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

"i pity the fool"

I got asked to the dance tonight. By Ryan Anderson (not the ryan later talked about..) Its pretty funny due to the fact the dance is Friday. :) haha it will be fun.

Have you ever gone back and read something that was exactly a year ago to that day?  Well thats what happened to me. See a year ago- I was sitting in a drivers education class, 3rd class to be exact. It was quite boring- anyways I passed a note to this kid, Ryan. Well i blogged about it that night:
"Anyways: tonight in Drivers Ed. I got all courageous and passed a note to this cute boy sitting in front of me. He wrote back. I wrote back. Blah blah. Then afterwards he officially introduced himself to me and we realized that we had been at the same Halloween party. I felt bad that i didn't recognize him... but he remembered me. Ha Ha. Well that made my night. "

5, 10, 15, 20 25, 30, 35, 40 45, 50- All that time & nothing to show for it

Have you felt like the author of this blog has been neglecting her duty as a blogger? Have you ever felt anger towards the author because of her recent lame, short, updates of factuality lately? Have you ever wondered if she even cared about you anymore? Where the hell is she?

I am back. Yes, I did post a quick update like a few hours ago- but that was something totally lame and short, so i am back to update you once again, bore you, entertain you, educate you, and open your little mind to thought processing devices that not even you knew existed. I recently haven't had the time to sit down and write a thoughtful post, i don't even have the time now (but i thought this beat AP United States History reading and cleaning my room.) So here I am, sitting in my bed that has fleece sheets on it, with my feet warm and my head frozen, ready to write. I hope your ready to read.

My life has been quite exciting lately. Its had ups and downs and has resembled the ways of the roller coaster at your favorite theme park- you know, the one everyone ends up throwing up on. Here is the update:

  1. Once Upon a Mattress has ended. (As you may have known by a quick lame update posted earlier.) I am quite happy that people have stopped calling me the french whore and the whole long hours of dancing and singing about a princess and a pea is over- but goodness, i miss everyone! There is so many people that I would see every day for hours after school because of the play that now I don't even know if they still exist. It kind of sucks.
  2. I have had the privilege to see many new movies including: Michael Jackson's "This is It", The Time Travelers Wife, and New Moon. All amazingly amazing shows that I suggest you to go and see.
  3. Becca and I are working on a rap in jr. Choir about getting high.. its epic.
  4. I made a friend mad at me on accident.
  5. She still is kind of mad.. kind of really. . .
  6. I went and saw "Love It Or Leave It" (a skateboard movie) and won a tee shirt that could fit four people in it. But it has my nickname labeled on it, which makes it all better.
  7. I spent two and half hours alone in a coffee shop because my friends never showed up.
  8. Thanksgiving was wonderful. The food was jealous, the family was- well my family (there are no words to describe that bunch,) and the fun was in exceedingly great amounts. The only thing that could have made it better was if Luke was there instead of kicking balls around on a green field in California for a soccer tournament.
  9. We went Christmas tree shopping and chose the best one- naturally
  10. Yesterday we had our traditional 2nd Thanksgiving Meal and decorated the tree. :) (pictures to come eventually
  11. We watched Christmas Vacation two nights in a row.
  12. It never gets old.
  13. I have all the lines memorized
  14. Yeah. Im. So. Cool
  15. Today I went to school and it was as boring as I remember it being a week ago. Nothing has changed- except for Mrs. Walton's daily "kay" and "now" count reached an exceeding 178 times in forty minutes.
  16. I learned that there are square shaped watermelons in Japan. They stack better in grocery stores.
  17. A year ago- on this day, I started drivers ed. . I met goggle boy. Haha.
Random fact: Have you noticed that every time the bell rings people look up to the ceiling like it is a sign from the heavens and something is going to happen? I noticed today. Sure- I definitely have been one for looking up too, but now i am going to restrain myself because the whole class looks foolish doing it. Just saying..

Recently my love for music has grown (and the amount of money in my wallet has shrunk after spending 70 dollars on Music.) My current favorite that you need to check out is "Bulletproof" by La Roux- you will like it. I promise. If you have any song favs, tell me, i would love to expand my variety.

I am ready for the holidays. So lets bring on the snow and let the fun begin!

Have a Great Night! xoxo

Its the Day of the Food Babies..

Thanksgiving: It's a heart-warming American tradition.

It celebrates the time when the Indian's shared their food with the early settlers.

And how do we repay them?

We slaughter them in thousands and then ship them off to the shittiest bits of real estate.

i ate too much.

Happy Thanksgiving! :)

i know our song is over & heavy, as I see, dry leaves fallin' down

Its one of those nights.
You know.
The nights where you want to cry.

But you don't have a specific reason.
You don't have someone to blame.
You cant blame yourself.
You cant blame a situation.

Its just one of those nights
where you sit around in your bed
waiting for the tears,
 but they don't pour anymore.

wishing

wondering

what would have happened

What would have happened if i never passed the note.
If they never met.
If I always could have hung out
If i could long board.
If i didn't say those words.
If i was myself.
If I wasn't so quiet.
If I said something.

If i didn't go out of town for a month.

Would I still be sitting here, wondering?

Title: "Where do my Bluebirds Fly"- Tallest Man on Earth

Saturday, November 7, 2009

the music's too loud & the noise from the crowd increases the chance of misinterpretation

The Apology: I know the last time i wrote something on here (other than my quick three word update to confirm the fact that I hadn't died or fallen off the face of the planet) was October 22, which was a long time ago, and I apologize. I will be better. I have just been a little busy, okay really busy, and right now I am not any less busy, I just think I have neglected my role as a blogger : )

The Blog Business: First off I would like to say that the title of this here post was provided from the song "Id rather dance then talk with you" By: Kings of Connivence. Second order of business would be the layout. As you can probably tell the title picture is different. I know, I know, it has changed like every time I got on, but I have overcome my ADD problem and it will be sticking this way for more than a month I promise. With the new title came new pictures along the side and a few new quotes. Be sure to check them out! Comments and Suggestions should be left in the Comments section at the end of this post. Thank you.

My Moody Mood: I am in an excited, stressed, happy, tired, awake. Confused? Yeah me too.

Once Upon A Mattress: So as you may know, the play East High School is doing for their musical is Once Upon a Mattress- the true story of the princess and the pea, what you may not know is that it is coming up next week on the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 16th at 7:00. Come support our talented leads and ensemble. It is a fun performance with a great cast (and Im the french bimbo.. haha)  -- the picture to the left was created by me and is hopefully being used for the program covers : )

Did you hear?: I am a Take Five director and I am so excited! And yesterday I got a new phone yesterday (LG Neon) because the buttons on my white brick just stopped working- which is no good. I also have a lot of homework i should be doing.

Random Fact About the Author: I love daylight savings time. I love how is gets so dark at like five o clock.

Picture of the Post:  I just love all the colors.

Have a good rest of your weekend!

GO UTES!

There is a Wild Thing within us all.

We have all heard the classic story. We have all fallen in loved with the characters, the art, the plot, and the wonders of it. But now there is more to enjoy. I absolutely loved the new movie "Where the Wild Things Are."

My favorite part was the cute kid who played Max. He had a sweet face and an even sweeter personality that was displayed largely through he character in the film. You just fell in love with him from the moment he appeared on the screen.

The music was so fun and delightful throughout the film. I liked it so much I am going to make an effort to purchase all of the songs.

Costumes for this film were exquisite. Even the extra unique details to Max's pajamas were perfect. The Wild Things looked amazingly real.

I would high;y recommend this movie to anyone. Absolutely Anyone.

call me but(t) love

Picture of the Post:

Have you ever noticed, while you are sitting in class, boredom pouring into your brains while you work on a problem, that when the bell goes off to go exit- everyone (or nearly everyone) looks up? Why is this? It bugs me, its like an instant que. Bell. Head Up. Bell Head Up. Its like we are all waiting for some message to come from the ceiling or that the roof above us with simultaneously collapse on our heads.

Shakespeare. He wrote in a whole different language. He was brilliant. He was insane. And He hated women. And I spent a whole weekend with him. For the dramatics department of East High School we went down to Cedar City to the Shakespearian Competition. Now I have never been to a camp or school trip that entitled me to sleep elsewhere then my own home. This trip was exhilarating, educational, and so much fun! We left Thursday at 12:00 p.m., promptly after failing a chemistry test, on a large school bus with East High School labeled across the side of the giant yellow canvas.
  • I sat with miss Eliza (Leeeeza) on the bus- which was quite an adventure on its own.
  • We stayed at the Best Western right on the campus.
  • Our room was 251 : )
  • My roomates where: Amy, Eliza, and Laura (best group ever)
That night we went to see an amazing edition of MacBeth. I have never seen Shakespeare performed like this before. The costumes and make up resembled that of of a punk rock goth theme that I personally thought added to the scene. Although it was freezing in the outside theater- the play was a delight to watch.

  • The hot tub had too much chlorine in it and made your eyes hurt and your throat choke just being down in the basement next to it.
If you ever get the chance to see a play while down in Cedar City I would suggest The Complete Works of Shakespeare. This had to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Three (cute) men doing all of Shakespeare's work in 97 minutes!

East did a good job over all, walking away with three tech awards, and the feeling of relief. I can't wait to go back next year.

But I do think that all of us are suffering from a Shakespearian Hangover. : )

Hey Baby, How you doin?

Have you ever tried sleeping on a train? It is not as easy as one may think. First, you have to realize that there is someone next to you, so lounging all over is a little out of the question. You have to position your pillow correctly, if your lucky the person next to you will let you use them or maybe you have a window to lean up against. A helper in a good sleep on a train would be discovering the foot rest. It is usually located underneath your seat. This gives you extra leg support so you dont get sore feet. And finally you need to choose the right sleeping music. For me this was the new Mika album or my new found favorite Kate Nash. After all this preparation you are allowed to put your head down and try to catch some zzz's.

I had to learn this process the hard way this weekend when my family decided to take a surprise trip to Glenwood Springs Colorado. Traveling there by train was a new, exciting experience. I had never been in a train, let alone a moving train. It was quite relaxing and filled with beautiful views.

On the train it amazes me how all these different people can come together and the conversations shared at joined tables for dinner. I know my sister is laughing at me saying this because she just does not understand how interesting people are. We all have our stories, our back grounds, our lives that make us, us, and how we can all come together with a common purpose- the fact that we are all stuck on a train that if we tried to get off... we would die.

Glenwood Springs does not have 'springs' in the title because it sounds good or because it was discovered in the spring time, it is named this for the warming natural hot pools of sulfur filled water that they have made into nice swimming environments for me when I visit. It was absolutely relaxing and amazingly amazing! I had such a blast. The town its self is like a hippy party with medical marijuana every few blocks, super sandwiches, good coffee shops, scary old women selling their dead husbands old stuff including dolls with wicked eyes, shops that smell like dead people (not that I have actually smelt a dead person but that is what I imagine it to be,) secret stairs that lead to amazing views, and a 7-11 clear up the street.

I had a wonderful vacation and would recommend it to anyone.

"The beat is complete with the sound of your world going up in fire"

- The Cure "Doing the Unstuck"

If you couldn't tell.. I haven't been writing. I just don't know what to say. To solve this epic dilemma of a problem, I asked for suggestions. From here on out is words in response to your ideas. Thanks : )

  1. Mitchell said I should talk about the gangsters on Browning Avenue. i dont how "gangster" they are but we have all of these amazing characters living around us, like super heros, star wars, army personnel, and princesses. Its quite amazing. Every time you walk out the door you have to be careful and watch out for light sabers and swords. I have personally gotten really good at karate. : )
  2. My 2nd subject is Megan. She is amazing! I love going to productions and play practice because she is so funny. In the musical she plays the main princess, Fred. Perfect role. "Its so strong, Its so perfect, Its so you!" I helped her run lines today which was pretty epic. She wanted me to attempt to put into words how excited I am for the Shakespeare competition- i cant. It will be so much fun! Egyptian grief and dancing is amazing and we will be body painted gold (and hopefully sparkly.) A good part of the dance is the Megan and I don't commit suicide like every one else. We survive! Good news I know... but it will be a party!
  3. Now Morgan asked for the most. She had enough ideas to make me write for hours. : ) First I am supposed to talk about how amazing she is. Well she has the best fashion sense- which is very sophisticated and unique. She is an amazing volleyball player and is the lead player. I know it has a special name but its like the main defense who just keeps the team in check and who can move like everywhere. Its so much fun watching her games. SO yeah.. she is amazing! 2nd: Morgan made me a copy of Mika's new cd that I am listening to right now. It is so good! I love his voice and the songs are so well written! Love it! 3rd: she really likes this replay song that I personally dont find the best song out there.. but its cool. 4th: She told me to talk about changin seasons. What am I supposed to say to that? I mean i could talk about how the leaves are going to change colors but hopefully you all ready knew that. Its fall right now even though its hot outside. And i personally am ready for cold weather. Rain and Snow. 5th: I know you have all heard the song "No scrubs" but TLC, its like ten years old. But have you ever actually listened to the words? Its pretty scary how much is describes a few of my friends. Funny stuff. But it is one of those songs that get stuck in your head forever. Take today for instance, i only know one verse but that verse was stuck on repeat in my little noggin for hours! 6th: I finally say 500 days of Summer. It was so so so good. Honestly one of my new favorite movies. I had been asking my guy friends if they wanted to go with me for a while in hopes to hang out with them.. ha... it never happened. So i took morgan and katelin (so morgan really drove down there but it was my idea okay.) Most definitely a must see. I am going to own it. I am sure. 7th: 500 days of Morgan. It is going to be the next biggest hit. I havent heard anything about it but im sure it will be amazing. yeah... (dont know about that one morgan...) 8th: we are going to green springs or green something for UEA and I am so excited. Its a hippy town with relaxation written all over it. We have to take a train to get there. I have never been on a train. 9th: ya.....
  4. My dear dancing twin Audrey, I love going to dance. It is the highlight of my wednesday. These girls are pretty crazy that i spend all this time with. We have so much fun. I personally think our teacher is a little crazy and I am still getting used to her teaching skills, but i love to dance. 2nd: I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY OH SO VERY MUCH.
  5. Katelin just agrees with Morgan.
  6. so Bill asked me to explain how to make pickles. Yeah... no... i have no idea. I just like to eat them. : )
  7. Now our dear blogger Anthony likes to repeat himself I discovered. There is only so much to say about boys that you really don't need to write it out four times in big lettering. haha Boys are cool. In jr choir they are annoying. In math their smart. and In graphics they are creative. Boys are cool. : ) 2nd: "Don't have sex. You will get pregnant and you will die." mean girls 3rd: make chocolate chip cookies really fast with your friends before a movie and see if they are better... it works. 4th: I have no clue by what you meant by a lowland gorillas diet... grass? fruits and veggitables? (maybe you should write that on your blog... i think you be better at that one) 5th:Boys- see number one
  8. Yes, My Mother does have a facebook and yes she writes on my wall... haha. Did you know its all about Geegus?? Well it is... she is like my personal Jesus. My best friend who is always there when I need her. (The next post will be all about her... so stay tuned)
There you have it folks. A post for the readers. : )

have a good night. Im tired. so..

"Muses work all day long & then at night get together and dance"

Title: by: Edgar Degas
(Degas in Vegas! haha random thought)

This weekend has by far been pretty epic-ly exciting! I have procrastinated my homework too far, partied with friends, and created way to many memories. And you, my lucky reader, get to get the inside look at (said in a booming deep voice almost like the introduction to s super hero) AUDREY'S WEEKEND!

Friday:
  1. sent out a message to friends to see 500 days of Summer- epic fail
  2. went to Lindsay's house with Amy and Becca
  3. we made carmel popcorn and watched Fire it Up or something. Its that movie we have all seen the commercials for about the two football players who go to cheerleading camp to get girls... i don't recommend it
  4. this was an amazing girls night. i loved it.
Saturday: The big one: The epic one: The one you have all been waiting for:
  • 2:00 pm- I walked to Morgan's house where i met up with Morgan (duh its her house) Katelin and Tori
  • We got some lemonade from a stand on the corner of Morgan's street that was being sold by sweaty little kids in their soccer uniform. It was disgusting. Seriously, this lemonade tasted like expired apple juice.
  • After offering our "lemonade" to some bikers who refused and then dumping it out of the car like a water fall we made our way up to the Aves Street Fair.
  • The street fair ran from Donah to Indian.. (D to I street)
  • All four of us bought matching bracelets and then three of us got new bags. This is the kind of place where I wish I had millions of dollars to spend. : ) but i didnt.. .
  • We saw Nick Jonas
  • Then we dropped Tori off and Morgan, Katelin and Me went to the Greek Fest
  • I got a new necklace
  • We watched greek dancing and wanted to go the stage so badly
  • We also picked out dates for each other (purple fro dude was mine)
  • Andrew and William were our friends at the Valets : ) they were cute

  • On the way home Morgan got a call that she was asked to the dance.
  • Moses came after we figured out Jacob asked her.
  • : (
  • Katelin then got asked.
  • It was a scavenger hunt.
  • Tori got asked too. With butter.
  • Katelin got asked by Jake F.
  • Tori is going with Ted
  • (Not being asked to the dance blows like hurricane season. Really. It. Does. (even if you wont be there any way.))
Sunday:
  • My Grandparents 65th Wedding Anniversary
  • makes me happy
SO that was the condense version. I personally dont feel up to writing the full version and I am sure you are not up to reading it all.

Im really tired all of the sudden. Goodnight!

xoxo

oh baby, here comes the sound.

Title:My Chemical Romance "Give 'Em Hell Kid"

So, as you can tell, i changed the layout. The white was driving me insane. It was so sanitary and clean feeling. What do you think? I did some long time editing to get the image just right, added extra dots, tinted the lenses, added a few lines in the background, the works. Was it worth the effort?

Today was an alright day. I say this with a smile on my face i promise. Let me tell you why:
  1. I got my APUSH assignments back and didn't fail
  2. we played with cars in Physics
  3. I received fashion sense from a gay guy today randomly. He told me that i should carry my bag on my right shoulder because my hair falls heavier on the left side so it balances out my outfit... it so worked and made me look better im sure. haha
  4. there was a HOT sub in Jr. Choir today... : ) --------(check out www.justinwilliams.com to see his picture, and then imagine him singing ten times more beautiful than he looks.)
  5. Productions we worked on the Shakespeare festival which i will be attending for the first time this year!
  6. the seminar after school was scary
  7. i went to play practice for only 2 minutes today
  8. i met a friend name... oh dear... i don't remember his name. Its starts with an I!
  9. I went to coffee today.
  10. I had dance
  11. but i missed Glee... : (

Yeah. Those are the reasons.

Randomnicity alert!!!:::You know when you see the person you like have a crush on and you forget how to like talk. Happens to me all the time. For today example. It was just me and him sitting at the table for a second. I sat there looking at how blue his eyes were. Meanwhile, the voice in my head was losing control!! Okay, I thought. Converstation. Got to make conversation. Can't be a bump on a log. Don't look stupid. Dazzle him with your wit and charm. Be natural. But be yourself. Talk about something. ANYTHING. Current events maybe? Is that boring? Depressing? Wait. Do I know anything about current events? No. Better not do that. I will sound so stupid. Is he bored now? Does he look bored? GOOD GOD, WOMAN, TALK TO HIM!!!! So i asked him about how school was... so lame. Well story of my life. Once he started to answer, the group came back from getting drinks and it was back into be a little quiet Audrey from there. And he, well he went back to being amazing.

Ending statement to get you laughing. This kid in my math class named Holden just did a facebook chat message thing to me saying "Hey you stud! I dont really know you." haha i went to reply, but he got offline.

Well. Goodnight to all. xoxo

  1. So... im personally getting bored with the design. But i dont want to change it if you people are going to find it annoying that i change my layout like every three months. In other words: Should i change it?
  2. I finished "Audrey Wait." Any suggestions of new book for me to read??

Labor Day Weekend:
  • This long weekend I drove with my family for about two hours up into the mountains to my Grandparents cabin. A simple wooden house hidden by decaying trees. Beautiful.
  • We painted the deck a red brown color which was fun.
  • Gabrielle got sick. : (
  • I ate way to much.
  • No one knew I had left.
  • I am sad to be home knowing that I have school tomorrow.
Collected Images from this Weekend:

I hate school. Bye.

You all knew a school post was bound to happen sooner or later.

Okay this post is going to super lame compared to two posts ago but i didnt want to just throw my creativity all at you at once. Most of you would get overwhelmed and quit reading, others would be confused, and then there would be that one who would actually like constant creativity (and my head being put on other peoples bodies every post.) SO here we go:
School. Ugh. Dislike that word. For some reason it is really hard for me to get back in the school mode this year. In the past, sure its been rough, but i was like actually excited. This year. I have no want to be at the school where supposedly amazing happens. But i will deal. Because school isnt all that bad, summer is just better.
So I have been at school for two week now? yeah two weeks. My classes are okay, teachers are okay, student body- wacked and okay. Let me tell you about it:

APUSH:
  • first off the teacher reminds me of Miss Umbridge off of the Harry Potter movie

  • it involves math and I am not very good at math
  • the people in the class are fun

  • crazy stuff

  • drama class
  • there is much more than acting drama
  • there is drama about drama in drama

"she started shakin' to that fine fine music!" The Velvet Underground, 'Rock & Roll'

Im going to start this post by saying how disappointed I am of you who call yourselves readers, followers, and subscribers. My last post- I thought- was brilliant. The story of a night in the wonders of Geek-dome. But.. NO! You people didn't even comment on it. I was sure that I was going to have a mountain of delighted readers comments that are at least one word long like "cool" or something. Not even a comment of amazement towards my new found version of rock, paper, scissors?! Come on people. (Only my sister commented and that is because she felt sorry for me.) Tsk. Tsk. And you call yourself devoted readers.... : )

Any who. Have you ever read a book, and you and the main character are so much alike? Its creepy cool, right?
Well that is what I have fallen into with my current read: "Audrey Wait!" By: Robin Benway. I saw this book on the shelf and had to buy it because it HAD MY NAME ON THE COVER!
I personally felt cool. So I bought it and as I started to read it I began to realize that Audrey in the book and I were more a like than just our name. Heres the reasons a) cover of the book- we look a like haha b) she loves music c) she randomly braids her hair. I do the same thing (and often get teased by my little sis for it.) 4- she is working on a collage in her room where she is covering the whole wall with images. I am doing that to- except im covering my door because my Mother doesn't want me to put tape on the wall so when I pull it off the paint comes to... Strange happenings. We do have our differences though- like breaking up with a boyfriend and having him write a song about me. But that is so not important. I personally found that exciting that me and this book and are like similar and so I thought you should know too! *image on the right is my copy :D pretty sweet huh?

3rd topic of discussion is Music. (and my love for it... duh!) If you really want to know something about me, you should know this: I like my music loud. I mean loud. I'm not talking the kind of loud where your parents knock on your bedroom door and ask you to turn it down.
Please. That's amateur hour. When I say loud, I mean you-cant-hear-your-parents-knocking-and-the-neighbors-are-putting-a- FOR-SALE- sign-on-their-house-and-moving-to-another-block-because-they-can't-handle- the- constant- noise-anymore loud. You have to turn it up so that your chest shakes and the drums get in between your ribs like a heartbeat and the bass goes up your spine and fizzles your brain and all you can do is dance or spin in a circle or just scream along because you know that however this music makes you feel, its exactly right. If your not this kind of person, then I don't think we'll be great friends. Music can help you like all the time. It's like when something horrible happens to you and you wonder, how will i ever live another minute without freaking out about this? Put on music. And then a minute will go by  without you thinking about it, and then an hour, and pretty soon your life goes back to normal and you can't even remember what had you all upset. Like what Bob Marley & the Wailers, said in 'Trenchtown Rock'- "One good thing about music / when it hits, you feel no pain."

My current playlist of top ten favorites:
*******Note that the numbers mean nothing in order of liking them- its just to help me count to ten.
  1. Fireflies: Owl City
  2. Hotel Room Service: Pitbull
  3. I can't stop Laughing: The Trews
  4. Smile: Uncle Kracker
  5. West Coast: Coconut Records
  6. Hollywood Bowl: Band of Skulls
  7. Wanted: Jesse James
  8. Save Your Soul: Jewel
  9. Boom: Anjulie
  10. Please Dont Touch: Polly Scattergood

Dudes and Dudettes- if you like something in this post LEAVE A COMMENT for the sake of the gods and goddesses of this world and others. I hate to feel unloved! And why do you always comment on the lame posts and never on the ones I find extremely interesting? Hmm? Yeah- thats what I thought!

Peace, Baby.

Rock - Paper - Scissors - Lizard - Spock

**Just a heads up- my computer is not cooperating right now so the spacing is funky. Sorry!

"Enlighten us, but make it quick" is the slogan of Ignite-a community event celebrating the passion and creativity of GEEK culture. Ignite events showcase a series of speakers who, in rapid succession, give five-minute talks on whatever ignites their passion. Last night I went to go see this interesting idea in action. When I arrived I filled out a survey, got a lucky blue ticket (which won a T shirt later in the evening) and sat down in side the Murray Theater. The people there were complete GEEKS- but way awesome. Some lady even had lights "igniting" her outfit. She later spoke and told us about her love for lights, which only added to the amazingness of her pink glowing dress and hat (yes her hair was pink to, but when I saw her at the Arts Festival... it was blue)

The format and freedom is half the fun with Ignite- the speakers are allowed 20 slides that auto-forward every 15 seconds that have been pre made in Power Point, whether they're ready or not. Sounds like a challenge to me. I was so amazed at how fast some of these people could talk. I had to breath for them. The first half of the night was quite entertaining, but the 2nd half was filled with subjects like "we are not all human because there are bacteria cells in us." Oh well, at least it ignites their passions right.

There was also Powerpoint Karaoke where 3 contestants presenting an Ignite style presentation on a slide deck they've never seen before. This had potential but the contestants didnt do their part. With the right people I have a feeling this would be great.

Before the actual event all started there was a competition of Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. I am unable to play this game due to my handicap to make my fingers divide in half and create the ever so famous Star Trek Spock (i told you it was Geek Fun)

Here is how you play: ROCK PAPER SCISSORS SPOCK LIZARD

"I invented this game (with Karen Bryla) because it seems like when you know someone well enough, 75-80% of any Rock-Paper-Scissors games you play with that person end up in a tie. Well, here is a slight variation that reduces that probability. (Note that for those of you who like to swing your fist back and forth and say, "Rock, Paper, Scissors, GO!", might want to continue to do that, replacing "Rock" with "One," "Paper" with "Two," and "Scissors" with "Three.") This version is also nice because it satisfies the Law of Fives."

Don't worry about me- just suffering through a skate event hang over.

Saturday was the Concrete Rodeo Grand Nationals! This was exciting stuff for a die hard Concrete Rodeo team member and fan. (haha) so what did I do? Well on Saturday morning I woke up early and was at the South Jordan skate park at 6:30 a.m.
I was ready to set up and get this event under way but the Miss Mother Nature had different plans. It rained. Until 11:00. I waited in a giant white van with my father, sister, and JJ for about 5 hours. It was very displeasing I tell you. But then the clouds dispersed and the sun was shining the rest of the day! :)
We had a good turn out- even for the economy which has brought our numbers down 20 percent- filled with incredible talent and exciting skating.
Here are a few photographs from the event:

Now that it is over I am not sure what I am going to do this weekend. I almost feel like I should pitch a tent in the back yard and then drive to the skate park in the morning and eat mexican food every night!

Heres to a great summer of skateboarding!
Cheers!
