500th Post

Congratulation's Verbaledudette! You have reached your 500th post! It has taken you five years to reach it, but goodness - you did it! Let's eat cake to celebrate!

It is freezing in my apartment and I have recently discovered that the building across the street has a new male resident. I know this because I can actually see him brushing his teeth in nothing but a white towel around his waist in a full lit bathroom directly in eye line from my desk window. I have my christmas socks that my mother sent me on, a long sleeve, and a thick man sweater. Oh and pants. It is almost abusive to have a old heater in our room that doesn't work but makes noises anyways. It is mocking our shivering chatters.

I started to pack up a bit today. Paisley was doing it, and in chain reaction, Kayleigh, Savannah and myself joined in the process. It is odd packing a little bag to come home. It is odd not taking everything. I am packing a vacation bag to come home and that doesn't seem right. This isn't my home, yet why am I leaving most of my stuff in the closet and drawers?

I cannot wait to get on that plane next friday. It could not come soon enough.

499

There is nothing more embarrassing then sitting in the dorm common tv room, sobbing at the latest Parenthood episode, and it's only fifteen minutes in. Alright, there is probably more embarrassing things, but for the moment, this is defiantly the worst.

Today I went to ocean beach with Emme and Paisley. It was just what I needed to make it through the next ten days (ten days until i am home!) The beach was foggy and the air crisp and the company plesent. I made a little video of our adventure.

Verbaleudette's Gift Guide - Day 19: The Soup and Sandwich Duo Tray

Today I am cold to the bone, my stomach kind of hurts, and all i want is tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich served on the same plate. Get one for everyone in your family! Turn dinner dishes into one! It's classy for the new soup and sandwich party you have always wanted to try out.

It can be yours at: http://www.polyvore.com/soup_sandwich_ceramic_tray_duo/thing?id=25633205

A few last announcements: happy birthday to my bunk mate Phoebe! And also, today's post is my 499th post. Whew! Tomorrow is a big day!

Sleep well!

i never used to win anything

Guess what?! Tonight I am going to a concert after winning a pair of tickets through a concert app! Two tickets (each at a 60 dollar value) to Antibalas - a Brooklyn based afrobeat group. I have invited my friend Jordan and although we are not allowed to bring cameras - i have a feeling we will party hard. I never used to win anything - but now look at me! Two winnings in the last two months!? Oh San Francisco, you do love me.

Verbaleudette's Gift Guide: Day 18 - Tiny Tape

In my house, the minute you open goodies (anything from candies, to chips, to nuts for salads) people always get their fingers in the bags and eat it all before you even get to think of having it again. I have a new solution! Tiny tape will nicely remind those little sneakers to stay out of your things! What a perfect gift for yourself from Santa! (And it's European - so it is the best instantly.)

http://www.aintrocketshop.co.uk/product/tiny-crime-scene-sticky-tape

Also - a quick update on my finals. I presented my event photographs in class today and everyone loved it. Also, I am pretty confident about my Digital Final Exam today. It seemed pretty easy - which hopefully is a good thing.

Well, I got to dance on off to my show! Special Guest list here I come!

oh goodness, epic fail.

I haven't posted since last tuesday. That means that you haven't known what to buy your loved ones for nearly a week. I apologize for that and I promise to get you caught up and back on sleigh in no time.

I must first tell you that the concert I went to (two door cinema club, the gaslight anthem, of monsters and men, metric, the shins, and jack white) was absolutely to die for. I feel so fortunate to have seen so many talented artists for a reasonable price and with the lovely friends I have made here. (Gabrielle - please know I wish more than anything that you were here for it.) Also, I must brag that today I bought three pomegranates for $1.50 at the farmers market. Success.

Now - let's get the party started:

Verbaledudette's Gift Guide Day: 13 (wednesday)

Lucky Lucky 13. I am proud to introduce something that I would love (hint hint) to have - the Fujifilm Instax Mini Polaroid Camera

This cute little polar white camera instantly pops out your images in small pocket sizes! What a great way to remember the night or get artsy with mini photographs. SAVE THE POLAROID.

http://www.amazon.com/Fujifilm-MINI-7s-White-Camera/dp/B001AK1DOG

Day 14: (thursday) The Starr X

When I was growing up, we used to have one of these on the chopping block. There is nothing like watching Father pop a beer open off a stationary opener. It is classy, and is an easy way to invite everyone into the kitchen. No more wondering where you last put the bottle opener - because it's on the wall!

http://www.mollyjogger.com/collections/frontpage/products/bottle-opener

Day 15: (friday) A Recycled Holiday Sweater Skirt

I do not know about your mom, but my Mother is a school teacher. And being a school teacher means she gets to where those cheesy holiday vests we all loved growing up. My father even loves them! (Totally sarcastic on that last line) So what better gift to grab for your favorite holiday sweater wearer but a skirt to match!

http://www.uncommongoods.com/product/recycled-holiday-sweater-skirt

Day 16: (saturday) "Diary of A Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel" by Jeff Kinny

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is easily going to become a children's classic. The latest book of a series about a young kid trying to survive school was recently released. If your kids (or children relatives/friends) have not read these books and watched the movies - it is a must. Promote reading and fun Parents!

Day 17: (sunday, finally!) "Beasts of the Southern Wild"

This film is breathtaking to watch. It's cinematography is simple, yet stunning and the lead little actress will make you cry. The story follows a little girl, in the deep swamps of the Bayou as a storm approaches (I gathered it as Hurricane Katrina,) and her will to survive, save her family, and keep the tradition of the south alive.  A must see, a must buy.

Whew. Thanks for sticking with me. Less than two week until i come home! I cannot wait!

I am going to leave you with this image of three drunk irish santas we met on the bart ride home from the concert. big city life. : )

taxidermy for children

Verbaleudette's Gift Guide Day 12: Lego Taxidermy Deer

What more could you want than a Lego deer head hanging from your wall above the fire place? Really, there is nothing greater that giving your children the satisfaction of hanging something they proudly did on the wall. Plus, it is animal friendly and safe. Instead of getting your kid that gun (that we all know he will shoot either your eye our or his) get him the safe, user friendly alternative to hunting. Get the satisfaction of taking home a deer head - without the deer!

http://shop.davidcole.me/products/unofficial-taxidermy-deer-lego-kit

Tomorrow night I am attending an exciting concert series called the Not So Silent Night in Oakland. The line up includes: Jack White, Of Monsters and Men, Metric, The Gaslight Anthem, and Two Door Cinema Club. There could not be a better line up & and the only reason I am telling you about this randomly after talking about plastic taxidermy is because I want you to be incredibly jealous of the music eargasm I am going to have tomorrow night.

: )

Ciao.

stay gold

Tonight I was walking around down in the shopping district, shopping of course, and when I reached Union square I noticed there was a giant heavy metal menorah next that had been placed next to the even bigger christmas tree. Walking a bit farther, I cam across two men and two women dressed in early 18th century costumes caroling for a group of tourists with I (HEART) San Fran shirts. Oh, big city life.

I got my hair cut today, which was much needed. Even though I took four inches off the longest layer and another two off of my bangs - no one noticed. To my knowledge, my roommates still do not know I did it. Haha. I do not know why I am telling you this.

My friend Jordan bought me gold nail polish because I once complimented her gold nails. I was a little skeptical at putting it on at first, but it is now my new favorite! Such a fun color (plus, it is the fastest drying nail polish I have ever had.) Thank you Jordan!

After a sleepless night stressing over getting my final project done for my Fundamentals class - I have changed it. Hopefully it will work for the better. It is just sucks when time and resources are not on your side. One day, Audrey. One day. : )

Verbaleudette's Gift Guide: Day 11 - Custom Made Ukuleles

Ukuleles have become all the range. Go onto the YouTube and everyone and their mom's are playing a cover to the recent pop song on the ukulele. Why not get your kids a special something to make their acoustic covers stand out beyond the rest? Designs are unlimited and made hand made by some guy in North Carolina.

Goodnight. xo

cried in class today, twice.

Today was a great day. I had an amazing class this morning where we all shared a moment of tears, lots of hugs, and good art. The pieces were so moving and inspiring that we couldn't help ourselves. After class I did a three hour photo shoot with Savannah trying to emulate the talented Russell James for my master's of photography project. : ) It was perfect.

I have been slacking on the gift guide. I didn't do it yesterday, and now today is really tomorrow, so technically I am due three gifts. Let's get to it:

Verbaleudette's Gift Guide: Day 8 - Boskke Recycled Sky Planter

For those garden, plant, nature, tree hugger, people in your life (Or the ones who think it's cool to be eco friendly) get them something to hang their favorite plants in upside down! But really, it is incredibly artsy and unquie. It would work on a patio, in the yard, or even above a kitchen table. SImple & cute.

Website: http://www.boskke.com/blog/tag/sky-planter-recycled/

Day 9 - Brooklyn Slate Chalkboard Cheese Board
I simply love Brooklyn Slate. Their designs are always classy and chic for everyday household items. The board simply speaks for its self. It is simple & perfect for that newly wed couple, or maybe your daughter just bought a cool flat with brick walls in downtown New York. Or maybe Uncle Jerry who just loves cheese and chalk! (if this doesn't tickle your fancy, seriously just browse around the website. Such fun stuff.)

website: http://www.brooklynslate.com/products/slate-cheese-board

Day 10 - Lens Mug

It is exactly what the title says - a camera lens converted into a mug. It may seem like an absurd idea, but this screams wonderfully awesome to a photographer like me! No, no, I am not just posting this to hint (but if any of you are lost for idea.. hint hint) It is seriously something like you have never seen before! Imagine the looks your gift receiver will get when they ask to get their soy vanilla latte in that at Starbucks!

website: http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/camera-lens-mug/

Well, i best be getting to bed - I have a field trip in History tomorrow! Big day!

Also - 16 days until i come home! : ) Yippie!

i have the room to myself

My music is loud, my hair is pulled up into a bun that is highly unattractive, and I am singing occasionally off tune while dancing around my stool when I feel like it. I also think the dog in the room across the street from me is also feeling this enthusiastic alone time, for he is running around in circles chasing his own chair by the window. I am sure Baha Men's "Who let the dogs out" is his song of choice.

Last night the roommates (and myself) brought in the holiday season by having a December First celebration. This was not only to escape our current studies, but also because we knew the weeks to come are going to be treacherous with final tests and projects. At the beginning of November, we drew names out of a hat for secret santa. Last night, the night began with secret santa gifts. Phoebe was my SS and she got me a new camera strap! It is adorable. I was Paisley's, giving her a large book of movies she must see (because she is a movie addict.) It was fun to see how well we knew eachother. Each gift was so personal. Living in such close quarters with someone has it's benefits.

We then all got our umbrella's and ventured in the rain down to Fisherman's Wharf for the New Zealander's (and Paisley's) first IN & OUT burger experience. Let's just say they were not disappointed. The evening ended with the movie Rent. I could not stop singing a long to every song. Oh how I love that musical.

To sum it up, that is exactly what I needed to brush away a bit of homesickness and start off the holiday season. I am ready for Christmas!

Which brings me to Verbaledudette's Gift Guide: Day Six - IDEA Microgem Headphones

It's a headband! No, it's earrings! No, its earbuds! NO, IT"S ALL THREE. Get these simple, little, yet sweet, pair of headphones for that chic chick in your life. They match anything, look cute, and work! no more walking and loosing those buds out of your ear, place it on your head, swish your hair over it, and TADA it disapears. Don't let your holiday gift list go without listening fashionably this year.

Sleep well! xo

welcome december.

Well hello December! It is good to see you!

With that wintery month officially rolled in, it now feels right to celebrate the holiday season and I get more and more excited to go home. Oh how do I miss my family so much.

Since I was a slacker, Verbaledudette has two gifts to share today. Gift Guide: Day Four - "The Book Of Skulls" by Faye Dowling

It is literature, art, and culture all in one. Exactly what you need to give your trendy teen friend, scene kid sister, or classy father. Pages and pages filled with one of the most recognizable symbols (and one of the most popular.)

To make it better, it is only $10.00 at Barnes and Noble.

Verbaledudette Gift Guide: Day Five - Burroughs Beard Oil

We know that we just finished mustache movember, but some of you ladies still have those boyfriends who prefer their chins covered all year long. Or they are a lumber jack. Get them something to clean up those scraggily hairs and make it smell delicious when you lean in for a big kiss under the mistletoe this holiday season.

This flask shaped bottle can be found here.

Have a wonderful rest of your night! xo

Verbaleudette Gift Guide + a New Addition

Good Afternoon! I hope this post has found you happy and in a splendid mood - because that is how I feel writing it. I just created a monster. Verbaleudette had a child. I am please to announce that Verbaledudette has officially branched off into a musical side dish: Verbaleudette Music (http://verbaledudettemusic.blogspot.com/) will now harbor all of the musical obsessions I may be having. I will be sampling a variety of genres and artists to help expand you views & musically educate you on the good, the bad, and the up and coming. So, bookmark it my friends - it's going to be music to your ears!

On to other news, I am craving chocolate. Because of this craving Verbaleudette's Gift Guide: Day Four is inspired by that. I give you: The "You Deserve this Bar of Chocolate Because" Bar

You can find this at Knock Knock Stuff (a place with cute unquie everything) for a pretty decent price. (http://www.knockknockstuff.com/catalog/categories/chocolate/you-deserve-this-chocolate-bar/)

"It is decadent. It's witty. It's interactive." and most importantly you need to treat yourself to this "55% cocoa & 73% artisanal wit" piece of delight. There are also a variety of other flavors and check off lists - so shop around and get one for everyone!

oh hump day.

I am going to start off with the Verbaledudette Gift Guide item Day Three: Turtle Shell Wireless Boombox

I am all about helping the locals, supporting the underdog - you know.. the hipster shit. These guys are just trying to get their product off the ground. You can buy it through kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/krissman/outdoor-techs-turtle-shell-rugged-wireless-boombox

Depending on how much you are willing to spend, depends on what you get for your gift. It is unique and fun and something any one of any age would enjoy! : )

Last night I read an article that warned all of San Francisco to prepare for flooding because a monsoon was heading our way. It rained really hard until ten o clock in the morning, then is was dry. No rain, no monsoon. Do you want to know where that left me? In pure disapointment. See, I got this super cool, chic, totally amazing, bubble umbrella (thanks papa) and I have not been able to use it to it's full potential because the rainfall has been meager. The forecaster guy on the news got my hopes up and then washed them away in a matter of minutes! (ULTIMATE SAD FACE.)

Although this did put a bit of a downer on my day, my day was still pretty good.

I did a presentation on Diane Arbus in my history of photography class, and well.. i do not think she really liked it because she did not ask to keep my slideshow and save it on her desktop like she did to the girl ahead of me. BUT give me some credit, I was trying to present something that we watched a twenty minute movie on right before. Everything I said had been previously presented with an older man with glasses and a British accent. I could not compare.

Savannah's Mother sent us a christmas tree to put up in our room to go along with the lights. (photos to come.)

Gabrielle sent me a letter that made my night! It had a mustache in it! And a penny!

To finnish off the evening I skyped with my loveliest of friends Sarah for four ours. This is what we did:

what did you do with your wednesday night? : )

xoxo

oh so productive.

I have finished two essays, one power point, two and half photo finals, and made a timeline all in the last two days - plus I had time to have fun. WOOT! I am getting so productive it is exciting!

I am working on a self portrait right now. As awkward as it may be to take pictures of yourself, this is turning out to be one of the most fun projects.

But more importantly:

Verbaledudette's Gift Guide - Day Two: Honest Boy Pencil Sharpener

Need I say any more? Reminding me of the Geppetto shop back in Italy, this is a unique, quirky, cute, and handy stocking stuffer. Found only at redflare.com!

I need to go print. Sorry it is so short! Xo

getting into the holiday spirit.

My dear roommate (and friend) invited me to spend the weekend with her and her sweet family as they prepared for December with christmas tree hunting (good old fashion, hike, pick, and saw your own down) and then decorating it. It was relaxing and filled with a good nights sleep and tasty food. Thank you Kayleigh and Family!

the tree was knew it was the own, so it hopped up and walked to the car.

Left to Right: Bruce (Kayleigh's Step Sisters Boyfriend,) Daniel (Kayleigh's Boyfriend,) and Kayleigh

the tree farm. definitely not Utah.
no show in these mountains and Christmas tree hunting in short sleeves? What is up with that?
I couldn't say "Audrey's eyes are frozen, she will see it later" quoting Christmas Vacation because it was not cold!

Part of the gang!

The beautiful Katelynn, Kayleigh's sister.

Last week I was surprised to find a large package in the mail for me. Inside was a countdown calendar from my sister. It was those cardboard, square chocolate, calendars that have surrounded the holiday seasons through out my childhood. Instead of counting down for Christmas, my instructions were to count down to coming home. Today was the first day of twenty five. Let the count down begin.

Like last year, to count down Verbaledudette will host the ultimate gift guide to help you with your weeks of merriment. I am going to begin it today (another way to count the days until I get to go home to Salt Lake City, a place where I am in incredibly homesick for recently.)

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

Verbaledudette's Gift Guide Day One: A Penfield Oxon Messenger Bag

oh yes.

For that hip, bike riding, class act in your family - do not hesitate one bit to pick up this gender neutral bag. Perfect for lap tops, school supplies, baby sitting stuff, traveling, knitting needles, and much much more! It is a "rugged satchel- style messenger bag from Massachusetts... tough cotton canvas shell with a full leather trim."

The easiest place for you to buy this beauty is Urban Outfitters (sold in stores and online.) Get yours today!

Have a wonderful evening! Happy Monday!

tgives day.

What a thanksgiving day this year brought. I spent the entire day pampering myself, doing homework, painting my nails, curling my hair, watching For A Good Time Call, The Bang Bang Club, and one other film that i cannot recall the name of at the moment.

I was lucky to be invited to the lovely Warenski home for delicious food and splendid company.

I know I am few days late (and many dollars short) but I just want to express how thankful I am for my family, friends, and the great opportunities I have been presented with in my life. I am incredibly lucky and grateful.

Sunday, November 18, 2012

happy november 18th!

Every year (for the passed two years) I have posted this video. Today is November 18th, aka Have Sex with a Guy with a Mustache Day!

Ladies, you too can help celebrate Movember!

Enjoy! xo

right as rain

I write a lot when it’s raining.

It is just something I do – along with writing in coffee shops, about the coffee shops, while it’s raining.

No, this post is not being written at coffee shop, but it is raining.

So yes, it kind of fits in the theme.

I am sitting in my bed.

For those of you who have just caught on to this sensation, or for those of you who forgot, my bed is located underneath some else (it’s a bunk bed. I’m not literally sleeping underneath someone’s bed) and that bed also occupies a room with three other beds. I am the only one awake, which is a surprise because usually computer screens light up the small corners of the room way passed this hour.

It’s raining outside, rather hard actually. I can tell by the blur of the orange light on the building across the road and can hear the deep sloshing of fast paced vehicles on the busy streets. I wish I could throw all the windows open and write this while sitting in the middle of the room with the only light being the criss cross stripes of light from the windows on the walls.

My roommates do not believe in fresh air.

They also do not believe in opened blinds passed five o clock.

I think I write when it’s raining because the rain makes me nostalgic. It doesn’t make me sad.

 It makes me remember.

Remember the good times, the rough patches, the moments I wouldn’t change anything, the times I wish would have gone differently. This nostalgic feeling makes me feel like I need to share something. I don’t really want to share those memories though. So I come here, to this public domain, and describe in detail the objects around me. (We all remember the coffee garden posts where I pick apart the tastes, the smells, and the sites. Or how about me sitting at the dining room table talking about the lights and how bright they are against my parent’s studious faces.)

Posts like these are not really for you.

They are not informative about my life or the latest tunes those cool kids are listening to these days.

Posts like these are really for me.

They are something that the minute I start to write, usually introducing it with a poorly executed introduction, I cannot stop. My fingers constantly clicking keys, pressing onward quickly, not thinking about what I am going to write next, just writing down the thoughts as they present themselves no matter what shape or form.

My spelling is even more atrocious in these posts than usual. The page of text, first written in Word Document, is lined with red and green squiggles under misspelled words and unorganized thoughts. As my spelling gets worse, my vocabulary heightens and I randomly through in words like “executed” and “atrocious,” These thesauruses like words are often used wrong, kind of like my speech when I am nervous or not thinking before speaking.

It takes longer to spell check the document than to actually write it.

There is no music playing, no headphones on, no bar’s stereo turned up to loudly, but yet a song is tuning through my ears. It’s not a particular artist, chorus or key, but a combination of the rain, the street side laughter, and the quick click of the keys.

I hope my music isn’t disturbing my roommates.

I think this post that was originally brought on by the rain, which brought on the nostalgia, was also brought on by the idea that I will not be home for thanksgiving.

In Italy, I didn’t really notice that I missed it.

Yes, I took in the fact that my entire family was joining together to eat and laugh and unbutton their pants secretly at the table. But I was in a country who didn’t know what the holiday was and the time difference made the at home celebration seem like something that happened while I was sleeping and I just missed it.

That I just didn’t wake up in time.

Not here. Here I see everything. Plans about where everyone is going and whom they are spending it with. I understand the reasons for me not going home – I don’t have a break from school and it isn’t worth it. But I still feel a bit homesick. I miss the company and warmth my family contributes. Even Skype sometimes can radiate their heat just by seeing their smiles.

Rain is my favorite weather. It is cleansing, simple, illuminating, and crisp. It is new. It is familiar.

I like to write when it’s raining. To me, it is inspiring.

Goodnight/Good Morning.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

I miss you.

a call of desperation

My sister is supportive of my love of writing this blog, she just likes to look at the pictures more than read anything and often the emailed copy of my text sits in her inbox for a few weeks before she glances at it. It's fine, really. Really you guys, it's fine. IT"S FINE.

Anyways, so with that background information in mind, when I received a late night text last night that read "i think it's time this is put on Verbaledudette." I knew that what I am about to share with you was important information.

Ladies and Gents, my sister is in a contest to be a model for Delia's Magazine and she needs your help. ALL OF YOU (however many that may be.)

All you have to do is follow this link to Facebook.

https://apps.facebook.com/offerpop/Contest.psp?c=227208&u=18549&a=254553244581393&p=7815319716&v=Entry&id=717394&rest=1

Look at her darling face in this picture:

Read the inspiration quote on the right side about what makes her beautiful:

Then press vote!

If you feel so inclined to (as you should) you can send it to all your buddies. Also, you may vote once every twenty four hours.

So vote! and Vote often!

Because we all want to see this darling girl on the pages of this magazine she buys everything she owns from and is the practical reason why they are still in business.

(Also, the beginning was very dramatic. Gabrielle is not a bitch, she reads my stuff (occasionally more than mentioned) and was used for a thrilling post entry. I was going to use "It was a dark and stormy night" but come on.. to mainstream!)

fabulous team of luke skywalkers

I found this video and could not wait to share! (i put the link up because I know some of you email receivers do not get the embedded video and I do not want any of you to miss out on this excellence!)

http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6846855/gay-men-will-marry-your-girlfriends

i count shutter speeds to go to sleep instead of sheep.

The heater in my bedroom doesn’t work & an art stool as your only chair looks cool but is unstable.

I am obsessed with my work so much that I begin to dream in black and white, with umbrella-covered lights in each of the corners.

I am drowning in art and I do not want to resurface.

Being in art school is constantly inspiring and it makes me want to do more and more and more. The problem is I do not have the resources I want. For example I want a vacant empty large white floored, brick wall studio, multiple models of all looks, all the fashionable clothes in the world (for my models and for me) and every sort of lighting studio equipment possible. (If anyone can provide me with any of these, please feel free to contact me immediately through all sources of communication techniques.) I am producing bodies of work weekly, getting stressed over the perfect shot, and wanting to shoot more.

Ah. It is wonderful.

Where do I even begin to fill you in with the crazy/many events that have encountered my life in the passed week? Let’s start off with The Haberdash.

About a month ago I entered a quick easy contest in SF Weekly for this men’s fashion-thing-that-I-knew-nothing-about. I quickly forgot about it because lots of people liked the post on Facebook; there was no way that I was going to win.

Last Tuesday after class there was an email in my inbox from SF Weekly with the subject header “Congratulations.” Instantly I thought it was spam, but I opened it anyway out of curiosity. Inside was the great surprise of two tickets to the Haberdash: “a celebration of men’s fashion and style.” The tickets were sixty dollars apiece and who got them for free? THIS GIRL.

After corresponding with the nice email lady, my name was put on the special people list.

Wednesday night, Kayleigh and I adventured to the “hipster convention.”

Bow ties and Movember mustaches lined the sides of the building.

We skipped passed them, got our hands stamped, our names checked off the SPECIAL GUEST list (let me tell you, having them look up my name, saying “Miss Rotermund and plus one?” in front of lines of eager fashion sexual demons was the coolest feeling. It was like movie status, gettin’ in da clubs, droppin’ da namez and shiz.) Inside was a large dance floor area, a lit up enthusiastic bar, a runway, photo booth, and a DJ up on another level (like a god of music peering down on us playing Sky Ferreira’s “Everything is Embarrassing” making my night even better.) The night went as follows: fashion show (with many flamboyant sex symbols parading in nice tuxedos, ties, slacks, and oxfords,) SF local’s the A B & the Sea (folk/pop band) and LA native’s Wildcat! Wildcat! (the oddest looking mismatched to what they sound like band of awesomeness.)

I took over three thousand images (all of which can be seen at www.facebook.com/verbphoto) here are just a few:

Yes please.

No, this is not a man working a sexy set of stilettos. Yes it is a woman wearing a men's inspired attire working heels down the runway.

Matthew Mcconaughey much?

He had the swagger down. A sway to the left, now to the write, stare at the girl in the front to make her uncomfortably excited, stare to her boyfriend, flash the jacket, turn, walk.

A B & The Sea. So cute, so humble.

Rwar, Wildcat!

The night to follow Emme, Phoebe, Savannah, and I walked down to the Rickshaw Stop, waiting in line freezing, all in the glorious honor to see Sky Ferreira and Diamond Rings in concert (to which we bought tickets for weeks prior.)
the ladies.

Sky is grungy and wonderful. I melted as I screamed my lungs up my throat and sung terribly to every word, while dancing hard (and rather well if I may boast.) DId i mention we were front row?! We were so close, we could tell she had goosebumps and forgot to shave her knees!

Diamond Rings is just as exciting live as you would imagine them to be while listening to them on CD. Nothing like a crazy Canadian sweating in a white tuxedo to get you in the mood to jump up and down.

Also, here is a taste of Sky Ferreira’s “Everything’s Embarrassing” music video. She is lovely & everyone should know of her.

So many fun events in so little time!

I also forgot to mention that the week of Halloween my lovely Mother & Sister came to visit me for a surprise girl’s weekend! It was simply wonderful to play and laugh hard with these two ladies. We went all over, including the Golden Gate Bridge.

my best friends.

pearl "scene" girls.

There is only five weeks left in the semester. Can you believe it? I almost died when my professor gave us the outline for our final projects today.  My finals are going to be huge and hopefully exactly how I am imagining them. I do not want to give any hints or ideas out just in case they don’t go as planned.

I can’t jinx myself when all this creative blood is pumping through my system!

In future Verbaledudette news, I think I am going to bring back Verbaledudette’s Gift Guide. This means that if you stumble upon something that you think would be great items to advertise for the holiday spirit send me an email or post it on www.facebook.com/verbaledudette!

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday! xoxo
