Hey Baby, How you doin?

Have you ever tried sleeping on a train? It is not as easy as one may think. First, you have to realize that there is someone next to you, so lounging all over is a little out of the question. You have to position your pillow correctly, if your lucky the person next to you will let you use them or maybe you have a window to lean up against. A helper in a good sleep on a train would be discovering the foot rest. It is usually located underneath your seat. This gives you extra leg support so you dont get sore feet. And finally you need to choose the right sleeping music. For me this was the new Mika album or my new found favorite Kate Nash. After all this preparation you are allowed to put your head down and try to catch some zzz's.

I had to learn this process the hard way this weekend when my family decided to take a surprise trip to Glenwood Springs Colorado. Traveling there by train was a new, exciting experience. I had never been in a train, let alone a moving train. It was quite relaxing and filled with beautiful views.

On the train it amazes me how all these different people can come together and the conversations shared at joined tables for dinner. I know my sister is laughing at me saying this because she just does not understand how interesting people are. We all have our stories, our back grounds, our lives that make us, us, and how we can all come together with a common purpose- the fact that we are all stuck on a train that if we tried to get off... we would die.

Glenwood Springs does not have 'springs' in the title because it sounds good or because it was discovered in the spring time, it is named this for the warming natural hot pools of sulfur filled water that they have made into nice swimming environments for me when I visit. It was absolutely relaxing and amazingly amazing! I had such a blast. The town its self is like a hippy party with medical marijuana every few blocks, super sandwiches, good coffee shops, scary old women selling their dead husbands old stuff including dolls with wicked eyes, shops that smell like dead people (not that I have actually smelt a dead person but that is what I imagine it to be,) secret stairs that lead to amazing views, and a 7-11 clear up the street.

I had a wonderful vacation and would recommend it to anyone.
